Scammers are trawling the obituary notices and Social Media pages to see who has passed away. They are then opening Facebook pages or Just Giving pages to ask for donations or offering to provide a streaming service so people can watch the funeral service remotely. THIS IS A SCAM - If you wish to make a donation then either make it at the funeral service, contact the family to see if they have set up a donation page or contact the Funeral Director, who will be able to assist. The same goes for the streaming service. The funeral director provides the family with a link they can share with friends who can not attend. If you are asked to pay a fee when you logon to watch a funeral service stream, its a good chance its a scam. If in doubt contact the Funeral Directors dealing with the service and they will be able to assist you.
